Logistics of Homebrewing with Cannabis

Many homebrewers have either talked about or actually brewed with cannabis. Before you start, or before your next cannabis brew, there are many things to keep in mind to ensure your experience aligns with Charlie’s famous motto: “Relax, Don’t Worry, Have a Homebrew.”

In this seminar, Dr. Keith Villa, PhD, author of Brewing with Cannabis, will cover some of the logistics, including the legalities (Do you live near a school? Are you growing multiple plants at home?), the extraction and activation of cannabinoids (Everclear is useful for so many purposes!), the dangers of mixing cannabinoids and alcohol (enough said), and methods for making non-alcoholic beer.

About the Speaker

Dr. Keith Villa, Ph.D., is brewmaster and co-founder of Colorado-based CERIA Brewing Company, a trailblazer in the rapidly growing market of non-alcoholic, cannabis-infused beers. Keith is also the author of the Brewers Publication book Brewing with Cannabis.

After earning his Ph.D. in brewing from the University of Brussels in Belgium, an honor only a handful of brewers have achieved, Keith returned to the states with the idea of crafting beers inspired by Belgian styles, but with a twist. He then began his 23-year career as founder and head brewmaster at Blue Moon Brewing Company, an operating unit of MillerCoors. Since then, this beer doctor has gone on to brew several award-winning beers and continues to set new standards and push the boundaries of flavor, styles, and ingredients.
