Arizona Society of Homebrewers

Tyler Miller is the 2025 Samuel Adams Ninkasi Award winner. He has been homebrewing for 11 years and competing for 8, earning eight National Homebrew Competition medals along the way. In 2024, he was named Arizona Homebrewer of the Year. Tyler graduated from Dakota County Technical College’s Brewing and Beer Steward Technology program in 2016 and spent several years gaining hands-on experience as a cellarman at two Minneapolis breweries and working at the Northern Brewer homebrew shop. Now based in Mesa, AZ, he’s an active member of the Arizona Society of Homebrewers and a BJCP-certified judge working toward national certification.

Drew Beechum has been a part of the AHA since 2001, starting by helping organize the Los Angeles Homebrew Conference with his club, The Maltose Falcons. He has written for Zymurgy® and other beer publications, served as a club officer for 25 years, and spent nearly a decade on the AHA Governing Committee. Drew is the author of seven books on home fermentation and hosts the podcast Experimental Brewing. In 2023, he received the AHA Governing Committee Recognition Award. He lives in Pasadena, CA, with his wife and a small pack of dogs and cats, and currently serves on the 2025 AHA Founding Board.
