Announcing the New and Improved American Homebrewers Association Forum

The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) Forum is an essential pillar of the homebrewing community. It provides an opportunity for homebrewers to ask questions, share expertise, make connections, and encourage each other to continue innovating.  

To further support the growth of our online community, we have upgraded our forum to the Discourse platform. Check out our new digs here! An AHA membership is not required to join the community. 

What’s New? 

On the Discourse platform AHA Forum users can expect improved search tools, seamless incorporation of images and videos, improved post categories and topics, a mobile-friendly interface, enhanced spam protection, and more. In short: This is a major face lift that makes it easier than ever to connect. 

Trust Levels 

All users in the AHA Forum will be assigned a Trust Level. Reading topics and engaging with the community in this new platform will unlock more permissions over time, rewarding consistent participation and ensuring that the AHA Forum remains a safe, welcoming place for everyone. 

Accessing Previous Content 

All existing content from the previous platform has been migrated, keeping our valuable archive of 15+ years of homebrewing knowledge and advice accessible and searchable. Post categories are similar to the previous forum, but not identical. Formatting of images and emoji may vary in migrated posts.  

Can I Keep My Username? 

If you had an account on the previous forum, you can keep your existing username and post history in the new forum. To ensure your username and post history migrate over correctly, follow the directions below to sign in to or register with the same email address associated with your account on the previous forum. 

How Do I Access the New Forum? 

Ready to join the conversation? Follow the instructions below to set up your account. 

If you used the previous AHA Forum 

If the email address you used to access the previous forum differs from the email address you use to log in to your AHA member account, please contact our team to ensure your forum account migrates over correctly. 

You are an AHA member or have had a membership in the past 

  • Visit forum.homebrewersassociation.org and click Log In/Sign Up. 
  • Log in with the email address associated with your forum account. If you are an AHA member, your password will be the same as your AHA member password.  
  • Start using the new forum. Your username and post history from the previous forum will be migrated over.  

You have never been an AHA member 

  • Visit forum.homebrewersassociation.org and click Log In/Sign Up. 
  • Click “No Account? Register Here”
  • Register for the new forum using the email address associated with your account on the previous forum. Set your password. 
  • Start using the new forum. Your username and post history from the previous forum will be migrated over. 

If you’re new to the AHA Forum 

You are an AHA member or have had a membership in the past 

You have never been an AHA member 

  • Visit forum.homebrewersassociation.org and click Log In/Sign Up. 
  • Click “No Account? Register Here”
  • Enter your information and choose a username and password. 
  • Click “Create Account” to finish and start using the forum.
