Help Name and Design the AHA Assistant Brewer

The entries are in, and apparently AHA members have some opinions about what our new Assistant Brewer should be called and look like. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Submissions for the AHA Assistant Brewer name and mascot competition are now closed. Thanks to everyone who sent us a name, a mascot design, or both.

Next up, the AHA Community and Education Committee and AHA staff will review the entries and select finalists for a member vote.

What is the AHA Assistant Brewer?

The AHA Assistant Brewer is a new AI-powered tool designed to help homebrewers get fast, useful answers to brewing questions.

Members can use it to explore homebrewing topics, troubleshoot brewing questions, learn from AHA resources, and get support as they brew, ferment, package, and improve their beer, mead, and cider.

Think of it as a brewing helper in your pocket.

Competition Details

Entrants must be current American Homebrewers Association members when the competition opens on Aug. 10, 2026 and remain members through the completion of the competition.

  • Competition opens: Aug. 10, 2026
  • Submission deadline: Sept. 8, 2026
  • Member voting: Sept. 22, 2026
  • Winner announcement: Oct. 12, 2026

Your AHA Community and Education Committee and AHA staff will review name submissions and mascot design submissions separately and select two to three finalists in each category for a member vote.

Members may submit a name, a mascot design, or both. Submitting a name and design together does not mean they will be selected together. The AHA may choose the winning name from one entrant and the winning mascot design from another.

Each winning entrant will be gifted two complimentary registrations for Homebrew Con 2027.

Finalists and winners may be featured on AHA social media, HomebrewersAssociation.org, the AHA Forum, and in Zymurgy® magazine.

For a name entry:

  • Proposed name
  • Name and email address
  • Brief explanation of the name

For a mascot design entry:

  • PNG file
  • Name and email address
  • Brief description of the design

Entrants submitting both a name and a mascot design should provide all applicable materials.
