Media and Influencer Application Guidelines for Homebrew Con 2026

We thank you for your interest in attending the American Homebrewer’s Association (AHA) 2026 Homebrew Con (HBC). Media interested in covering HBC must apply for credentials and follow all requirements if approved. The AHA provides a limited number of complimentary credentials to support editorial coverage and public awareness of the AHA and the hobby of homebrewing.

Eligibility and Requirements

Eligibility

  • Eligible: Media credentials are reserved for individuals producing original editorial coverage (print, digital, audio, video) for a recognized outlet (trade or consumer) or social media channel.
  • Not eligible: advertising/sales, brand ambassadors, suppliers seeking marketing access, or anyone primarily attending for non-editorial purposes.

Requirements if Approved

  • Credentialed media are expected to publish meaningful editorial coverage of Homebrew Con, the AHA and/or homebrewing.
  • We ask for at least one substantial piece (article/episode/video) within 30 days post-event and to share links with the AHA.
  • Future credential approvals may consider whether prior coverage was delivered.

Approved Applicants Receive

  • One (1) complimentary full conference registration
  • Access to:
    • Educational seminars
    • Social events included with general registration
    • Public areas of the conference
  • Approved media will be provided:
  • A media kit
  • Staff contact list
  • Guidance on restricted areas (e.g., judge spaces, private meetings)

Approval Process

  • If applications exceed capacity, AHA will prioritize:
    • Relevance to homebrewing
    • Prior coverage history
    • Outlet/platform reach
    • Diversity of voices and formats

Deliverable Requirements

By accepting a Homebrew Con media credential, recipients agree to the following coverage requirements:

Timing

  • At least one coverage item must be published within 30 days post-conference
  • Final links submitted to AHA within 45 days

Revocation

AHA reserves the right to revoke credentials at any time for:

  • Misuse or transfer of badges
  • Violation of the Event Code of Conduct
  • Unsafe or disruptive behavior
  • False representation of outlet or audience

Rights

  • Media retain ownership of their original work
  • By accepting credentials, recipients grant AHA permission to:
    • Quote from or repost published coverage with attribution
    • Share on-site photos/video captured in public areas for promotional purposes

Coverage Restrictions

  • Homebrew Con seminars and educational sessions are produced by AHA for the benefit of registered conference attendees.
  • AHA actively welcomes photos, short clips, and recaps that promote the event and its presenters.
  • To protect the value of paid registration, AHA does not permit real-time or archived redistribution that effectively recreates the conference experience for non-registrants.
  • Exclusive for AHA members, one month after Homebrew Con, AHA will republish recordings of each seminar along with presentation decks and PowerPoints on the AHA website (homebrewersassociation.org). Media are welcome to link to these pages in their coverage.
  • The following uses are restricted:
    • No live streaming of seminars
    • No real-time audio or video broadcasts to external audiences
    • No long-form redistribution, recording or posting full seminars or substantial portions of seminars
