While its homebrewing movement is about 15 years behind that of the U.S., Mexico is currently enjoying a surge of interest in craft brewing, exploring new styles, and making beer at home with indigenous ingredients.

Keith Blanchard of Chatham, NJ, a member of the Morris Area Society of Homebrewers club, won a gold medal in Category 23: Saison in the 2023 National Homebrew Competition Final Round in San Diego. Blanchard's Saison earned gold out of 94 entries.
