By Chris Williams, National Homebrew Competition Director
First, I want to give a huge cheers and a big thank you to our volunteer judges and stewards on today, Volunteer Recognition Day!
On that note, the Final Round of judging of the National Homebrew Competition (NHC) is approaching, and it is going to be massive! The best beer, mead, and cider from the nine regional First Round sites will converge in San Diego to be evaluated and vie for glory—volunteer judges and stewards are needed to carry the competition over the finish line.
Judging for the NHC final round will take place Wednesday, June 21, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Town & Country Resort in San Diego, prior to Homebrew Con™ June 22-24. Now in its 45th year as the world’s most robust homebrew gathering, Homebrew Con features the world’s leading homebrew and beer educators.
To apply to judge or steward, please click the “I want to volunteer” option and complete an application. The American Homebrewers Association is generally looking for national and higher-ranked judges, but may accept some experienced certified judges depending on need. If selected, judges and stewards will receive a $50 discount (or credit, if already registered) on their Homebrew Con registration.
As a reminder, First Round winners will be announced by May 3, 2023. More specific information on the competition and judging can be found in the Rules & Regulations, Dates & Deadlines, and Frequently Asked Questions. If you have specific questions, please email Chris Williams.
Thanks in advance for your help in making NHC a success and see you in San Diego!
