What is stewarding?

Stewards are part of the competition team that help prepare and deliver entries to judges, along with other tasks. For more information, please visit the Beer Judge Certification Program website (bjcp.org). If interested in stewarding, please sign up here

What is judging?

Judging is the process of evaluating entries in relation to a style guideline.

When is judging/stewarding?

Judging/stewarding for the first round competitions take place at various first round sites from April – June.

Final judging takes places August 16 – 17 in San Diego

I’ve been confirmed to judge or volunteer. Are there accommodations available near AleSmith Brewing?

All judges and volunteers that will be traveling to San Diego for the final round are encouraged to book within our room block at the Country Inn & Suites by Raddison, San Diego North, CA. We’ve secured a special rate of $199/night for any room booked Thursday, August 15 through Sunday, August 18. Please use this link to book. The official cutoff for bookings in the block is August 1, 2024.
