The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) values the participation of each member of the community, and our goal is to deliver an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. AHA events are designed to increase community, education, joy and volunteerism (AHA’s core values) in a fun and safe learning environment.Event participants are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, courtesy and respect for others and maintain a high level of professionalism at all conference programs and events, whether officially organized by the AHA or not. All attendees, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and staff at any AHA event are required to observe the following Code of Conduct.

Code of Conduct

The AHA is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion.Harassment: We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. All communication should be appropriate for people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for the conference.Be kind to others. Do not insult or defame participants. Harassment in any form, sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not condoned.Violence and Threats:  Acts and threats of violence are strictly prohibited.Spam, Scams, and Other Malicious Conduct:  Any content or activity that disrupts, interrupts, harms, or otherwise violates the integrity of AHA, our events, or another attendee’s, user’s or entity’s experience or devices is prohibited. Such activity includes posting large amounts of repetitive, unwanted messages or user reports; distributing unauthorized advertisements; phishing; defrauding others; spreading malware or viruses; misinformation tampering.Participants violating these rules may be asked to leave the conference and may be banned from participating in future conferences at the sole discretion of AHA. AHA may take any action they deem appropriate, including removal without refund from the AHA event and/or competition at which the breach of code of conduct occurred. Egregious violations will result in more severe sanctions. AHA also reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Non-Discrimination Policy

The AHA fosters a homebrewing community that is welcoming to all people of legal drinking age, regardless of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, disability, military status,marital/familial status, genetic information, political beliefs, sexual orientation (including gender identity), creed, or ancestry.The AHA reserves the right to not publish and/or promote any homebrew club, competition or other homebrew/beer event or article that discriminates, harasses or intimidates others on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, disability, military status, marital/familial status, genetic information, political beliefs, sexual orientation (including gender identity),creed, or ancestry.Complaints of violation of the above policy should be reported to info@homebrewersassociation.org.

Age Verification

Attendees must be 21 years or older and must present a valid government-issued ID. All attendees must be current members of the AHA and must comply with posted warnings and policies at all times.

Waiver

As a condition of this meeting or event, participants waive any claim against the AHA and its officers, directors, employees, or agents, or against the presenters or speakers, for reliance on any information presented and release AHA from and against any and all liability for damage or injury that may arise from participation or attendance at the program. Participants understand and agree that all property rights in the material presented, including common law copyright, are expressly reserved to the presenter, speaker or to AHA. Participation in AHA events and activities brings some risk and participants hereby assume responsibility for their own wellbeing. If another individual attends in the place of the original registrant, per AHA transfer policy, the new registrant agrees to this disclaimer and waiver by default of transfer.

Photo Licensing

AHA intends to take photographs and video of this event for use in AHA news and promotional material, in print, electronic and other media. By participating in this event, attendees grant AHA the right to use any image, photograph, voice or likeness, without limitation, in its promotional materials and publicity efforts without compensation. All media become the property of AHA. Media may be displayed, distributed or used by AHA for any purpose. AHA event attendees agree to refrain from the audio or video recording of or photography of any presenters or speakers, as specifically directed before the presentation.

Compliance with Laws and Rules

All AHA event participants must respect all applicable local, national, and international laws, rules, and regulations. Any content or activity featuring, encouraging, offering, or soliciting illegal activity is prohibited.

Terms of Agreement

Registrant(s) voluntarily assumes all risk and danger incidental to the event for which this registration(s) is issued, whether occurring prior to, during or after the event. Registrant(s) voluntarily agrees the Brewers Association and sponsors of the event are expressly released by registrant(s) from any claims for injuries or death arising from registrant’s participation in and the travel to and from this event. The registration(s) may not be resold or offered for resale in a manner or at a price in violation of any Federal, State or local laws or regulations. Registrant(s) grants permission to AHA and sponsors of the event to utilize any photographs, motion pictures, videotapes, and recordings that may depict, record or refer to registrant(s) for any purpose, including commercial used by the AHA, its sponsors and their licensees. Registrant(s) acknowledges that the event may be broadcast or otherwise publicized, and hereby grants permission to utilize registrant’s image or likeness in connection with any of the live or recorded transmission or reproduction of such event in printed photographs or online transmissions. This registration(s) is not redeemable for cash. It is unlawful to reproduce this registration(s) in any form. Registrant(s) agrees admission to the event is restricted to individuals age 21 years or older and proof of age may be required at any time.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

You are able cancel your event registration for a refund up to 30 days before the event begins. A 20% cancellation fee will be applied to all cancellations. Any cancellations that are made after 30 days prior to the beginning of the event, will not be issued refunds.AHA does not provide refunds for NHC entries except for extreme and insurmountable circumstances. Entries not being ready for the competition do not fall within extreme and insurmountable circumstances.

Substitution Policy

There is no fee for substituting registrations and you may transfer a registration to another individual at any time up to 5 days before the event begins. To make a substitution, email info@homebrewersassociaiton.org with the contact information of the attendee who is currently registered, along with the contact and additional registration information for the person who will be attending in their place. The substitute will receive an email confirmation. NHC Competition entries may be edited until their individual judging site’s edit deadline (please refer to your individual site for details).

General Registration

First and last name, and club name of all registered individuals may be shared, only when necessary related to attendee services/experience, with third parties including but not limited to providers for applications, software, and hoteliers.

Hotel Reservation Information

As common for some events, registrants give permission for the Hotel to provide AHA with their name and length and dates of stay and AHA to provide the Hotel with attendees name and address. Registrants agree to defend and indemnify AHA and Hotel and their affiliates from and against any and all claims arising out of Hotel providing AHA with this information.

Event Program and Presentations

The AHA – reserves the right to make any changes to the program in its sole discretion. Every effort will be made to keep presentations, speakers, times, and locations as represented. However, unforeseen circumstances may result in the substitution of one or more presentation topic(s) or speaker(s) or time(s) or location(s).

AHA makes no endorsements of any presentation or product. The views, opinions, displays and presentations by speakers and sponsors at the event do not necessarily reflect those of AHA.

In the event that the Event must be cancelled, delayed, interrupted or the schedule altered due to events beyond the reasonable control of AHA or the event organizers, AHA will not be held liable to Registrants for any damages, losses or costs incurred, including but not limited to registration fees, transportation and accommodation costs. AHA is not liable for changes in program date, content, speakers or venue.
