What's Brewing This Weekend - 9/23 Edition
« on: September 21, 2011, 09:02:38 am »
What's on the table?

I'm pulling some experiments right now in tincture making, but I've got a few things to transfer and some trouble to cause so who knows what the weekend might bring. Might brew a middling Scottish Ale to provide sufficient yeast for a truly goofy idea I've got going on.

I brewed a Rochefort 8 clone last weekend, and am waiting for some Staropramen yeast to arrive in the mail, so the only brewing I will do this weekend is making a lager starter.

Its also keg cleaning time again.

Brewing a 1 gallon batch of something resembling the 1839 barclay perkins XXX from the shut up about barclay prekins blog.

Couldn't find organic mild malt so toasted 10 pounds of pale malt at 230 for two hours to get close. we will see.

and with the second runnings a small beer of sorts. gonna have to see about some way to up the body on this by capping the mash i would guess but any ideas are welcome.

I'm hoping to sneak in a brew session, but I just don't know yet.

I'm pretty excited, as this will be my first dunkel.
I'll be reusing yeast from my Light Lager...Wyeast 2124.

Dry-hopped American Stout. Made this last year and it was fantastic!

Also using the cake from this beer to make a big, badass imperial stout the week after.

Finally brewing again. It will be a Weizen on Sunday. I prepared the yeast starter last night. Still debating the mashing schedule, but I will be brewing for sure.

Doing a Belgian dark strong on Saturday night.  Gotta get another 9+ percenter in the pipeline for when the current keg of golden ale kicks.

I'll be doing something similar to Rochefort.  My first time using Candi Syrup 180 and 45 and my starter is already going.

No damage to the brewery. The Brutus system  is raring and ready to go now. Looking forward to brewing on Sunday.

I'm brewing a rye stout on Friday night while my wife is at her drinking party book club.

Lots o' keg/ carboy cleaning for starters, then onto brewing. The Patersbier will be ready for secondary leaving a great cake of 3787 which I will harvest and pitch appropriately into 12 gallons of Tripel on Saturday.
Just brew it...
