need to calibrate my new Milwaukee in preparation as well.

Phew . . I had read it twice to make sure it wasn't a reference to OLD Milwaukee!  :D

Be growing starters of 3787 this weekend to brew Hieronymus' Patersbier next weekend of which I will take the cake and brew my Tripel.
Just brew it...

Making a no boil Berliner Weiss.  Better late than never if I want to drink it during the summer!

I got inspired and brewed my best bitter tonight.  I added a little amber Belgian syrup for fun.

They say the best defense is a good offense.  So go out there and say something offensive!

Seriously, be confident.  You're probably going to be the foremost expert on the subject in the room.

The advice I got going into mine was not to be antagonistic, but to make sure that you take control by spending 5 minutes or so "setting out your stall". And then clarity is key. Most importantly though - you know your work, and your arguments. Don't be phased by the awkward questions.

I've examined PhDs and supervize students. It's important to understand the mindset of the examiner. Very few are looking to deny you the degree if the thesis is up to it, but all are looking to make sure you're worth it. I'm sure you are. Keep us posted.

Looks like I'll have the time to put a double batch of IPA together.  I haven't brewed all summer and I'm starting to run low.  Had to put down one of the pack this week.  She had been sick for a couple of months (cancer).  Hurt her back a couple of weeks ago and was having a rough time getting around.  RIP Rennie :'(    She's the tricolor Aussie shepard in the back.

Sorry to hear about your loss Jim. It's a very difficult thing to do.

Right there with you on the level of "ugh".

Dry hopping an all Galaxy AIPA, doing a starter for an all Centennial AIPA. Brewing next weekend. Sorry about your friend redbeerman, raising a Bell's THA right now. RIP Rennie. Good girl.

I need to brew something since I'm off this weekend, but I'm torn.  I only have temp control for  one batch at a time and I have a Kolsch that's about finished.  I was going to dry hop it in primary for a couple of weeks, but I also want to use the yeast cake for another dopple alt.  I guess i can dry hop in the kegs and brew the Alt Sunday.
