That was Popcorn Sutton in that video. He lived around Maggie Valley, NC. He got busted a few years back when his still house caught on fire during a run and someone called the fire dept. He killed himself shortly afterwards by doing the old put the hose from the exhaust inside the car thing. :-\

He was already sick, if he went to jail he would have died there. So rather than spend his last days in prison, he ended things on his own terms. Guess it was his fault any way you look at it, but it just proves you can't be far enough away from your neighbors.

Popcorn came from generations of moonshiners.  He was probably one of the last of a dying breed.  :-\
He's a very simple man and quite frankly funny as hell.  It was the moonshine that made him and broke him.
It's a rough life but he seemed to be happy.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

Only kidding. This would be great as a forum get together. Looks like loads of fun. Ill bet we could get at least a few guys from this area into a rental van. Might be better than all driving down in different cars.

Im into it, who else is thinking of going? .

How long till this party 9 months?  :'( We have a long time to plan Right?

We need one of those countdown clocks in this thread. I wonder where to get one of those.

Beer, its whats for dinner.

I'm sure I can find a countdown timer somewhere. I'll look tomorrow.

Maybe we should organize a party RV.

I dont think you have to be a moonshiner at all. No one there IS a moonshiner.  ;)

How long of a ride is it for you to show up? 15 hours?

I like the RV idea. Would be nice to have some serious culinary ability. Im into roughing it and all but ....

Then what's the point?

How long of a ride is it for you to show up? 15 hours?

That's about right - from check-in to baggage claim time.  ITO to MCO

You know we could pitch this as a reality show.
