I accept what these small craft breweries are doing, but when I cannot find at lest one pale ale, blond ale or similar classic style to choose from their current offerings, it is disappointing.

That what has me worried about the direction in which Sierra Nevada is going.  Now that Summerfest is history, the only Sierra Nevada offerings I drink are their Pale Ale and Bigfoot (hopefully, their fest bier remains good).  Their other products are mostly what I would call "me too" beers.   I like Sierra Nevada Stout, but that beer appears to only available on tap at the breweries.  I cannot stand barrel-aged Narwhal Stout.  That beer is straight-up foul to me. However, I have yet to taste bourbon barrel-aged beer that does not taste foul to me (I do not care for the taste of bourbon).  When I think of an imperial stout that Sierra Nevada should have brewed, the non-barrel-aged Ten FIDY comes to mind.   That beer tastes more like an old-school Sierra Nevada product than most of the current offerings.  It is difficult to believe that that beer is 10.5% ABV, that is, until one has consumed more than one. It drinks more like a 5% American stout.  It is even smoother than Old Rasputin.

See old rasputin to me tasted like sewage run off. That's one beer I can vividly remember dumping down the drain

I like Old Rasputin a lot. It’s not too roasty, too bitter or too hot for me, but pleasant and warming to drink.

I used to buy beer from a small distributor in fernandina beach florida, it was on my ride home from work. The florida heat makes you thirsty! It was the frst place I found La fin du monde (I think that's how you spell it). They had old rasputin and being a history buff I quickly grabbed it.

To me it tasted sour sort of like stomach bile. So I dumped it. I'd give it another shot given a chance. God knows how long it sat on the shelf

Old Rasputin is pretty much my favorite winter time, by the fire place, commercial beer. I even have two OR tee shirts. Give it another shot, maybe something was wrong.

nice, i love la fin du m0nde and unibroue in general. its FROM canada, and the beerstore monopoly, run by labatt/inbev/BMC (or some mix of those) is trying to exclude unibroue now that theyre owned by sapporo/sleeman. so you basically can't get almost any unibroue products anymore here. it's such a joke.

Old Rasputin is one of the great beers of the world IMO.  Someone may not like it, but it is a perfectly constructed, delicious beer, flawlessly brewed.  It's about the only stout I drink.

What a shame!  Fin is a staple in my beer fridge.
