The last serving of my American Amber.

Nice looking beer! Upper left side of the glass looks very much like a sunset! Also, what's the make and model of the vehicle? Can't quite make it out.
That would be my 90 Cherokee I’ve had for 20+ years with swapped locked axles, stroker, etc. Way more cash in it that my brewing equipment! 90 body, 95 engine, 01 intake, ford rear end, etc… I call it FRANKENJEEP.

Nice!

Brewed on Anvil Foundry 10.5.  My recent brew everything but the kitchen sink lager mutt beer. Used leftover pilsner malt: Briess, Rahr North Star and Weyermann Barke along with Avanguard Munich malt. Yeast was Fermentis 34/70.

Beautiful.  I like to do that occasionally too .. What do I have left here?  Pilsner, CaraMunich, scrambled eggs and fiberglass.  Let's do it!  :D

A day without beer is like... just kidding, I have no idea.

I like your conclusion that Altbier is German Amber. That makes it sound more appealing to me. I have had one American Craft Altbier before. I didn’t care for it, but German Amber Ale sounds good and your recipe looks great.

Thanks! I used Horst Dornbusch's recipe from the Altbier book; that whole style-focused series has some solid recipes.

25j years ago, when I started brewing, almost no one made alt. Sounded interesting to me, so my first AG batch was alt. Started entering comps, and overall I've won more with alt than any other style. My recipe has evolved over the years, but I still love the style.

I brewed an Alt once. Wasn’t great but was drinkable.
