Just out of curiosity:  Why would there only have been 636 entries in the East Region when the cap of 750 was hit?

The Northeast capped out at 750, not the East.

Ah, that makes more sense then.  Thanks.

Kudos to all y'all that are advancing.  Didn't have time to enter this year, but next year I plan on making the time.

Ah well, guess I wasn't ready for the big time yet.   :'(

Now I can look forward to my score sheets to see just how far I am from the big time!   ;)

I notice there was only ONE winner from VT!  That can't be right!  Must be some Southern New England/Mid-Atlantic bias!

I didn't place, but the winner in the category was a 47, so I don't feel too bad. :o

Easy mistake to make as Gordon Strong is in the East and was personally blamed on this forum for regions maxing out.  ;)

Hmmm, maybe everyone in one club should enter in one region? If club members enter in different regions they could get points for first place in the same category. Doesn't seem right.

And, how about if your region is closed, you could enter another region? Or expand the 1st round to 2 days of judging?

Just thinking out loud.

A solution was developed a few years back to deal with cross region clubs (specifically "virtual clubs") and is stated in the rules:

"In the First Round, a club may only receive points for a maximum of three awards per category, the
highest three awards shall be counted, not to exceed a 12-point maximum."

I received two sets of scoresheets for one of my entries. I am curious - did it get two rounds of tastings (one of the score sheets says position 4 of 4 and the other says position 5 of 5). Did I get someone else's scoresheet? For the record, it was a Marzen entered in the West region. Also the entry numbers on all of my scoresheets are different from the entry numbers I see on the registration page as belonging to my beers.
