Penguin glycol chiller question?
« on: May 26, 2024, 11:25:33 am »
I’ve had the penguin glycol chiller for years. Just turned it on and the pump didn’t work. I pulled it out and fiddle with it and put it back in and then it started up and worked fine. I realized I haven’t changed the glycol in years and it’s getting pretty thick and disgusting. Just wondering:

How often do you guys change the glycol?

What’s the best way to empty the reservoir?

Thanks

The maintenance manual suggests pumping white vinegar through the system, so I would guess pumping out the glycol?

https://www.penguinchillers.com/wp-content/uploads/Owner-Manual-1.pdf#:~:text=Maintenance%3A%20If%20you%20ever%20need%20to%20turn%20off,it%20through%20the%20chiller%20for%20a%20couple%20hours.

I hope that helps.
