Paulaner Oktoberfest vs Munchner Lager
« on: December 20, 2022, 03:07:59 pm »
OK, what’s the difference between the beers?

I always enjoy seeing what’s available at the local supermarket and trying different beers. Paulaner Munchner Lager was only $6.99 for a 4 pack of 16.9 fl oz cans at a local store.

Bought a 4 pack the other day.

Finally, on Tuesday, I have a chance to try. Very good, but, at least to me, tastes the same as their Oktoberfest.

Is there any difference?

IMO, both are good. Perhaps, they are the same?

ABV on the Oktoberfest is 1% higher, about 5.9% vs. 4.9% for the Munchner Lager.  Otherwise I think the two recipes are basically the same.  Both very good beers.

The Oktoberfest beers by the Munich Big 6 breweries are usually the Helles kicked up a notch. Easy to drink by the Maß.

I'm a big fan of their Münchner Lager (aka Münchner Hell). To me, it tastes quite different from their Oktoberfestbier. The difference in alcohol is quite noticeable. I don't care much for the Festbier.
